McHens Event # 3-Sunday, April 26, 2009
The Ericksen's, the McFadyen's and the Noden's met at the home of June Harrris and her daughter Jennie, for the third event of our Dinners for Eight series. We were joined by our new Associate Pastor, Doug Ganyo and his wife Judy.
Over wine and goodies we shared some personal stories, and chatted about current events. After an uplifting grace by Pastor Doug we sat down and began a wonderful dinner prepared by June and Jennie. We began with a fresh spinach salad, and went on to roast loin of port au jus, accompanied by fingerling potatoes and baby carrots. About the time we were all satiated, June came forward with a chocolate cheese cake and after some mock moaning and groaning, we decimated this delicious dessert.
In honor of Doug's presence several tall, ditzy, and racy clergy stories were told to the accompaniment of great laughter around the table. Jennie's new digs on the second floor were examined and pronounced to be truly homelike by all. Jennie noted how pleased she was to be home again in Fernandina Beach after her long adventure in Hawaii, and how much she was enjoying her new teaching position.
The photos above tell the story of the evening as we shared stories and events and life experiences together.

Regrets
Mac,
Do pass along my apologies for not being able to make it to your Dinners of 8. Your April and May dates are occasions when we already have commitments. I know it would have been great fun. Thanks.
